To Rise; or, to Set?
This is a work by László Moholy-Nagy, Hungarian (Bacsborsod, Hungary 1895 - 1946 Chicago, IL., USA). This piece inspired me because of the various geometric shapes in harmony with each other. I originally tried to create a replica of this painting, but began to form ideas of Earth's landscape and astronomy. What came to mind was the sun (or the moon) rising and/or setting. At the bottom of the piece is the earth, symbolized with an earth tone. The very top (triangle) of the image is the sky. The middle portion of this work is the ethereal background with a tree sprouting from all angles.
My image on the other hand was spawned by those ideas; however, I wanted to take it a step further with animation. The question is if the celestial object is rising or setting. I thought it would be fun to have a small particle moving naturally close to the sun using Perlin's noise algorithm. Lastly, I figured having the user create the streaming lines rather than having static lines would be much more fun. They look more like shooting stars!
