Shapes in Color
Inspired by: Howard Dearstyne's "Bauhaus Analytical Exercise"
I thought this was a very fun project. I was drawn to Howard's Dearstyne's work because I liked all the different shapes and textures. I particularly liked the khaki background and gray compositions. I got to get my feet wet on how P5 works and be exposed to some of the mechanics.
The hardest part was trying to figure out how to reproduce some of the muted and textured grays. I finally decided to create a loop to put points on the canvas to replicate some of the grittiness and non-uniformity of the original piece. The hardest challenge was trying to figure out how to create a diaganoal oval that is in the original. I tried different methods but could not come up with anything that looked nice.
I look forward to exploring some of the more advanced techniques such as animation in the next project. Thanks for reviewing my project.
